The Last Generation of Pen and Paper Perhaps we are among the last generations in India who remember the quiet relationship between a pen, a piece of paper, and a thought. We wrote slowly. We waited for words to emerge. In that waiting, perhaps something important happened—we encountered ourselves. Today, the world has become incredibly fast. Information appears before curiosity has fully formed. We scroll, search, react and move on. But in this constant movement, there is a deeper question: what is happening to the consciousness that is experiencing all of this? Our ancestors seemed to ask questions that were not limited to the external world. The Vedas and Upanishads repeatedly turn our attention toward the one who sees, knows and experiences. They ask, directly or indirectly: Who am I beneath my name, possessions, memories and thoughts?
